With so many possible products, why choose an odor eliminator?
That's right. We realized that our struggle might be the struggle of many other people.
In 2024, our first son, Afonsinho, had been born just two months earlier when we decided to adopt Rico, an Epagneul Breton full of energy… and parasites.
Between a lot of pee and poop off the puppy pads and on the rugs, we did what you would do: we went on the internet looking for an odor eliminator that would help us get rid of those smells that insisted on lingering, even after cleaning.
We bought the top of the line, the best-seller on Amazon, and the only one that said: “Fragrance-free”.
Spoiler: it had perfume… A LOT of perfume!
Since we didn't want to expose our baby or Rico to heavy air filled with intense fragrances, and given the history of perfume allergies in our home, we realized we had to find another solution.
We used our experience in the chemical industry and started developing a product that would be truly effective at eliminating odors without needing perfume to mask them.
Several months of testing, experiments, reformulations, and many failed attempts followed.
Until… we succeeded.
The “AHA!” moment came when we had to change the bag in our son's diaper pail, which usually required a strong stomach.
We applied the latest version we had formulated, let it work for a few minutes, and, after a big sniff inside the pail…
NOTHING!
Not a sour aroma, not a trace of poop in the background!
That was when we realized we had achieved what we were looking for from the start: to eliminate the odor instead of disguising it with another smell.
We were finally ready to share our work with you.
We launched the website in November 2025 and received our first order the very next day.
Since then, Chemz hasn't stopped growing. We have already received hundreds of positive comments and, above all, we realized that the struggle that started as ours was, after all, the struggle of many other homes.
We are very proud of Chemz, how it was born, and everything it represents.
Because we still believe in the same thing that made us start:
A clean home doesn't need to smell like perfume. It just needs not to smell bad.
